Asava and Arishta: Asava (fermented infusions) and Arishta (fermented decoctions) are a special kind of herbal fermentations of the traditional Ayurvedic system. They are prepared by allowing the herbal juices or their decoctions to undergo fermentation with the addition of sugars, honey or jaggery . Fermentation takes place by the addition of a source of sugar with Dhataki (Woodfordia fruticosa Kurz) flowers. Many preparations contain additional spices like cardamom, cinnamon and other spices and herbs, for improving their assimilation. The self-generated alcohol doesn’t induce addiction but shows several advantages, like better keeping quality, enhanced therapeutic properties, and improvement in the efficiency of extraction of drug molecules from the herbs.
Kwatha/Kashaya (Decoction) : It is formed from coarse powder form of herbs and then boiled with a different ratio of water. The standard parameters are taken for Kwath preparation. All pharmaceutical factors are closely monitored by our stringent Quality Control Department such as vessel, temperature, water to be added, particle size, duration of heating.
Lehams/ Rasayanams: It is a type of semi solid preparation which is prepared either by honey, ghee, jaggery and/or sugar, and is boiled with a prescribed herbs, decoction of herb or its juice to get a semi solid preparation. Other healing additives like Madhu (Honey), Tila (Sesame oil), Tugaksheeri etc are blended wherever necessary, under stringent quality control parameters.
Churna: The herbs are finely powdered and they are filtered to remove all kinds of soluble and insoluble impurities. The herbs are subsequently mixed at predetermined ratios, which are then powdered as homogeneous particles and packed in containers under the supervision of our stringent Quality Control Department.
Vati (Tablet): It is solid preparation which is prepared by mixing the powder of herbs with liquid extracts and juices of other medicines at predetermined ratios.
