Historical Legacy of Vaidyaratnam
The legacy of Vaidyaratnam is steeped in the age-old traditions of Ayurveda, which have passed down to generations and still followed. Vaidyaratnam’s heritage is rooted deeply by the renowned Ashtavaidya families, who have played a pivotal role in the establishment of Ayurveda in Kerala.
Among these several eminent families, the Eledath Thaikkattu Mooss family of Ollur, Thrissur, grew to prominence for their unwavering dedication to advance and preserve Ayurvedic goodness.
The visionary Ashtavaidyan E.T. Neelakandhan Mooss put the Vaidyaratnam Oushadhasala on the pedestal in 1941. It was his initial work in the field that transformed Ayurvedic medicine into a modern institution. Further the legacy of Vaidyaratnam was carried forward by the fifth generation of physicians from the Thaikkattu Mooss family, Ashtavaidyan Dr. E.T. Yadu Narayanan Mooss and Ashtavaidyan Dr. E.T. Krishnan Mooss.
To ensure advanced skills, knowledge, and enrichment of Vaidyaratnam tradition, both these esteemed doctors have postgraduate degrees in Kayachikitsa.
