The ‘Eledath Thaikattu Mooss’ family is one of the most renowned amongst this rare tradition of ‘Ashtavaidyas’ (proficient in all the 8 branches of Ayurveda). The family has been dedicated to the cause of Ayurveda since the early 1900's and has since then made significant contribution towards the enrichment of Ayurveda and the saga still continues in its entire glory.
Ashtavaidyan E.T. Narayanam Mooss was awarded the title of Vaidyaratnam in the year 1924 by the then viceroy of India. His son, Ashtavaidyan Padma Shri E.T. Neelakandhan Mooss founded the Vaidyaratnam Oushadhasala in the year 1941. The Nation conferred upon him Padmasri in 1992 as a recognition of his contribution to the field of Ayurveda.
