History of Vaidyaratnam

The Thaikkattu Mooss is a well renowned family, engaged in the practice of Ayurveda (science of life & longivity) since 1941. Kerala has been associated with the traditions of Ayurveda and is known to have its roots back since the days of Lord Parasurama, an Avatara of Lord Vishnu, who is believed to threw his battle axe into the sea. As a result, the land of Kerala arose and later transformed it into a paradise of health, peace and prosperity.
The Thaikkattu Mooss family has contributed significantly to the development of Ayurveda, a holistic system of healing and treatment practiced since ages.
Among them, Eledath Thaikkattu Mooss have rendered the yeoman services in upholding the tradition through varied pursuits of treatment, education and manufacturing units of Ayurvedic medicines in the name of VAIDYARATNAM for centuries.

The heritage of Thaikkattu Mooss family begins with Sri. Narayanan Moose and Ithiravi Mooss of the 19th century. Ashtavaidya Narayanan Mooss was awarded highly solicited title of Vaidyaratnam by the Viceroy of India in 1924.

Ashtavaidyan E.T. Neelakandhan Mooss, the son of Ashtavaidyan Narayanan Mooss founded the Vaidyaratnam Oushadhasala in the year 1941.
